For each new bug, please at least list the following:

  • Date/Time of report, Name of the person filing the bug: Version of the HUD/game, Description of the bug,
    • Date/Time of additional comments, Name of the person closing the bug: Comments or Description of the resolution

For developers, please assign the bug to the developer whose code causes the bug

Phase 1 Bugs

  • Objectives list get's messed up (not decremented correctly?)
    • When the game starts the Objectives always shows 3
    • The objectives sometimes also displays a message 'buyCar', not the initial message that appears - couldn't duplicate
  • The scoreboard doesn't get updated / switch between the current high scores and all time high scores
  • When the message 'buyCar' appears in the objective window, if I buy a car, the car doesn't rez in. But I still keep paying repairs for the car and the objective window also doesn't get updated. - We need to find when this happens, and if we can duplicate, we can fix.
  • When I rent/buy a place the "For sale/rent" board displays only part of my name.
  • If I buy multiple houses, my mortgage payment remains the same. - could not duplicate, please expand
  • If I buy multiple cars, the first car I buy gets replaced by the second one(not sure if this is a bug!!) - Not a Bug. Game only allows one car per player at a time. This keeps the number of cars on the island more manageable.
  • Timer script has stack heap error still. Thought we had it fixed. Storyboard causing error is on wiki page.
  • Bug on version 0.21.1 - If paused waiting on objective and user does something else (like buy another car) game will resume, even though current objective is not done.
  • When I click on a car to buy it, the car rezz's in and then immediately disappears.(This doesn't happen for Jarrod's avatar though)
  • Proper message is not being sent to the scoreboard, so it doesnt get updated properly
  • When you buy a house, the sign board doesn't change. And the properties of the house don't change, because though you will be paying for the house, the house will be available for sale.
  • Some cars still disappear - script inside care that is in inventory of car on lot needs reset - tested successfully and then broke again. Not sure why.(Assigned to Sertac)
    • 20/09/2008 10:00pm - Jarrod - Bug fixed. Apparently copy of cars used by Mithun to add avatar name had avatar id set and needed reset to NULL.
  • September 11, Sertac: 0.26.2, Objectives needs to include 401k. (Assigned to Jarrod)
    • 22/09/2008 9:00am - Jarrod. Added to Objectives list (fix is in 0.26.3)
  • September 11, Sertac: 0.26.2, Replace car dialog is not very clear, doesn't explain that 'replace' pauses the game and 'don't replace' doesn't. (Assigned to Jarrod)

  • September 11, Sertac: 0.26.2, Red jeep has black owner text which isn't very visible because of black seat color. (Assigned to Sertac)
    • Sertac. Bug fixed: Changed the color of the seat for the red/black jeep.
    • 22/09/2008 8:38am - Jarrod. Didn't see Sertac's fix: Changed font to white.
  • September 11, Sertac: 0.26.2, Scoreboard spams debug messages to owner's (Hiep) account. (Assigned to Sertac)
    • Sertac. Bug fixed: Modified to script to remove llSay.
  • User can rent a house if he already owns. They really don't get the house, but the sign changes.(Assigned to Jarrod)
    • Jarrod. Bug fixed in 0.26.3.
  • September 11, Sertac: 0.26.2, Start button needs to be pressed twice to restart the game, rename the first press to reset maybe.(Assigned to Jarrod)

Phase 1 improvement Bugs

    • 2008-12-1 2:18pm, Jarrod: I think it's fixed in 1.10.1, but I'm having problem testing with 3 open SL clients on one machine. I will probably head home soon and test there.

  • 2008-11-26 1:00 pm, Jarrod: 1.08, Stack/Heap error on Finance Game - need to duplicate
    • 2008-12-1 11:46pm, Jarrod (Not Fixed): script losses memory when php script returns questions to car quest script. Odd since it doesn't process those questions. Memory is not returned to script and causes memory leak. Issue is with LSL, but will attempt to find suitable solution.
    • 2008-12-1 12:25pm, Jarrod: Issue is fixed in 1.09. Financial Script was listening to HTTP requests, but we are not using them in that script. All scripts listening to HTTP requests must have an overhead when replies come in. Even if the script is not doing anything with replies or allocating memory.
    • 2008-12-3 11:23am, Jarrod: Issue came up again on occasion. Extremely difficult to duplicate, but freed up about 1K and should be fixed now in 1.10.2.5.
  • 2008-11-26 1:00 pm, Jarrod: 1.08, Math error in Car Script - need to duplicate
  • 2008-12-2 4:00pm, Jarrod: 1.10.2.2, Renting house doesn't mark off objective in list. Not sure when this bug crept in.
    • 2008-12-2 4:16pm, Jarrod: Fixed in 1.10.2.3. Housing script is listening to coded message with num==4, message sent is placing monthly num=rent. Moved code out of if (num==4).
  • 2008-12-2 4:22pm, En: PHP Scripts All Versions. Need to make quest questions random.
    • 2008-12-3 1:16pm. Jarrod: Fixed. Returns all questions to SL in random order and SL parses and displays only 4 (adjustable in script).
  • 2008-12-2 4:38pm, Jarrod: 1.10.2.2. Car dialog doesn't display discount from quest. Calculates correctly though.

    • 2008-12-3 12:27pm. Jarrod: Fixed in 1.10.3. Was not limiting repairs to both number of years owning car and total number of possible repairs. Much nicer to play now.
  • 2008-12-2 7:10pm, En: 1.10.2.4. After the players answer all the questions, we need to tell them the discount they can get in the console of the HUD and (or) the dialog showing the car finance options.

  • 2008-12-2 10:00pm En: 1.10.2.4. Click the car quest before you buying the car, you still get the questions, after answering them, a dialog pop up telling you that you have 0 ways to purchase this car due to credit score.

  • 2008-12-3 12:07pm. Jarrod: 1.10.2.5. When car already purchased and you do quest, you received options again and it purchases car a second time, also gives a trade-in value to first car.
    • 2008-12-3 12:11pm. Jarrod: Fixed in 1.10.3. You can buy a car, do quest afterwards. Then receive discount on all future car purchases.
  • 2008-12-3 12:45pm. Jarrod: 1.10.2.5 and previous. On Quest Questions, ',' is replaced with '!:' and not correctly switched back.
    • 2008-12-3 12:57pm. Jarrod: Fixed in 1.10.3
  • 2008-12-2 7:10pm, En: 1.10.2.4. After the player have bought a car, when he click the car in the dealership, the dialog pop up as usual (asking whether want to buy a car or not), and when he actually chooses "yes", the new car will be rezzed with the old car removed. We need to add the texts in the dialog asking whether the player want to replace their old car or not.
    • Will not be fixed in phase one, requires major changes to car scripts and HUD - Push to Phase 2
  • 2008-12-3 10:40pm, En: 1.10.3. When it is bankrupt, to replay the game, the player had to click "Start Game" twice to start the game.

  • 2008-12-3 10:40pm, En: 1.10.3. Still encounter too many car repairts too often. Also feel no difference if I choose not to repair or repair the car.
    • 2008-12-8 1:20am. Jarrod: fixed in 1.10.3.1. Car repairs are less frequent (sometimes not happening at all). This seems to mimic real life when purchasing a new car fairly well.
    • 2008-12-8 1:21am. Jarrod: Fixed in 1.10.3.1. Adding more text to dialog about repairs. The repairs effect the trade-in value of the car.
  • 2008-12-3 10:40pm, En: 1.10.3. student loan payment is always zero when I play the game. When will it change.
    • 2008-12-8 12:50am, Jarrod: Fixed in 1.10.3.1 - worked correctly, but just not displayed.
  • 2008-12-3 10:40pm, En: 1.10.3. After the player click "car quest" in the dialog, no hint about how to do the car quest is given to him.
    • 2008-12-8 1:45am. Jarrod: in 1.10.3.2 I added item to objectives list and make navigation pulse. I also added dialog prompting user what to do.
  • 2008-12-6 1:25pm, Jarrod: 1.10.3. Not only does auto-attach not work on the HUD, it is rezzed somewhere on the island and cannot be found. If the script is not reset before adding current HUD to inventory, all dialogs come to my avatar.

  • 2008-12-8 1:10am. Jarrod: 1.10.3. College Loan continues to withdraw every year for entire game.

  • 2008-12-14 10:07pm. Jarrod: 1.10.4.1. error in buying a house whose price is 150000 or 350000. It never showed the deed or anything, but it checked the house off the objectives list.

  • 2009-05-09 10:21am. Jarrod: 1.15.5. House quest is buggy. Wasn't triggering, both quests need to pause timer, fixed issue that car quest had. These two quests need compared and both need some fixes.

  • 2009-05-08 1:48pm. Jarrod: 1.15.3. Objectives list is deleting things that it shouldn't from the list. Objectives were done, but we had decided before to keep them in the list unless we needed to add a new one. We never had enough to really test this feature, so it might be a cary-over from phase 1.

  • 2009-05-08 1:51pm. Jarrod: 1.15.3. when prompted for 401k, we can make text better and choose to invest or ignore. Invest can pause game and begin flashing CU icon in nav.

    • 2009-05-10 5:39pm. Jarrod: Issue is very strange. Scripts are running, when you right click 'touch' appears and functions correctly, but pointer never becomes hand and if you do a regular click, nothing happens. Do we need to register a click event somehow? Maybe we sold it from one avatar to another and the click event was changed and never set back?
    • 2009-05-10 5:52pm. Jarrod: appears to be a problem with the layered XYText on top of the root prim. The root prim had the touch event, the XY Text has to be on top of it to appear, but it's not passing the touch to the root. Will look into later.
    • 2009-05-10 8:22pm. Sertac: I think its because of the invisible barriers. When camera position is behind them, it won't click on the object. I removed some of the barriers around the houses, try to test it again.
    • 2009-05-11 1:32pm. Jarrod: I think you are right. It seems to work now, but it was strange because I (and the camera) were so close to the sign that I can't imagine a barrier being in the way.
  • 2009-05-08 1:57pm. Jarrod: 1.15.3. Dialog for replacing car is not correct. It implies we are giving them a choice to replace or not, but we eliminated that choice from the game in Phase 1.

  • 2009-05-08 2:02pm. Jarrod: 1.15.3. Bought second car for cash, house payment is 1163, paycheck is 862 every 2 weeks. With no other monthly bills, why is my cash going negative? Maybe car payment did not clear out?
  • 2009-05-08 2:04pm. Jarrod: 1.15.3. clicking 'no repair' on car did not resume gameplay. Fluke?

  • 2009-05-08 2:06pm. Jarrod: 1.15.3. Not really a bug, but I will add dialog when cash hits zero, that you are now paying your bills on credit and explain that this is a good indication that you did not budget correctly. something to point out to them they are spending more then they are making.

  • 2009-05-08 2:10pm. Jarrod: 1.15.3. Code to detect HUD version was commented out... not sure how long ago. When put back in, it kept saying it was an old version but it isn't.
    • 2009-05-08 2:26pm. Jarrod: Fixed in 1.15.3 and Poster 0.7.2 If a developer needs to change HUD numbers, first click that script to not run. Be sure and run script again before adding to new poster and everything will be gravy.
  • 2009-05-08 4:30pm. Jarrod: 1.15.3. Cash is still starting at 10k, but should be 2k.

  • 2009-05-12 9:45am. Jarrod: 1.15.7. Server quest is buggy. Need to evaluate what is different from Retail (which works nicely) and fix. Errors include: multiple dialogs on failure, message that quest is completed when it's not, etc
    • 2009-05-13 12:33pm. Jarrod: Fixed in 1.15.7.1 - needs extensive testing though because SL is crashing, logging me out, etc
  • 2009-05-12 9:52am. Jarrod: 1.15.7. Need to fix rezzing position for blueprint tables. Also add avatar name when selected? Might be nice.
    • 2009-06-03 11:01am. Jarrod: Fixed in Drafting tables. Since SL's relative position and relative rotation don't seem to be acurate, rotations are now static. Positions are relative, but different for each table because apparently different rotations also effect the z-index on the position. Strange but true. Aside form several weeks of trial and error as I did in the navigation HUD, relative positional and rotation don't work. SL has issues when their built in Function to convert RAD_TO_DEG etc don't actually return results that are correct. Idiots.

Bugs from Scott

  • 2009-05-04 01:47 pm. Scott, Unable to find the necessary tools to complete the construction quest. tools on the table are not acquired when i click on them and there are non on the deck
    • 2009-05-12. Jarrod: Fixed?. I'm guessing it's because the tools are small. We might change to different requirements now that we have more tools there.
  • 2009-05-04 01:47 pm Scott. For the retail sales I only get, you must complete your training for retail sales, however it does not tell you where to go or why you need to do it.
    • 2009-05-12 9:56am. Jarrod: We need to change the description, I think additional icons in the navigation HUD might be nice too, police shield, mall (icon?), etc. As long as we keep it from being cluttered.
  • 2009-05004 02:10 pm. Scott: The fourth question for the auto quest had only the A,B,C,D answer cubes and no corresponding question, I believe it was for the previous question, but not obvious, and needs to be uniform.

Bugs for Tutorial on June 3rd by Scott

1) when I start the tutorial and enter my name in the Chat box, I get no acknowledgement. Additionally, when I hit enter and then click back on the pirate, I get the box that says I see you have changed your appearance. I have not done that yet, so it is out of place it seems.

  • 2009-06-03. Sertac: Added acknowledgement, also recognizes if you use your name in sentence (ie: "my name is hiep mills"). Can't duplicate appearance issue.
