The ultimate goal is to create a series of segmented videos that break down into 4 categories: I will put a number next to each film to try and create some sort of Hierarchy:
Tier 1: Must be completed by Monday the 26th so participants have time to learn before the game
Tier 2: Must be done prior to the filming on the 29th in order to provide the best experience for the event
Tier 3: Must be done before the February 11th live date
Tier 4: Can be done after the live date'

This is a video related to enhancing classroom education as well as an ability to easily add it to a financial institution's website. You can offer it passively, or aggresively coordinate events in schools or scheduled seminars. (Some clips from the VITAL Lab may be helpful here.) It should highlight the value of interactive 3d worlds in addition to enhancing the learning experience. It would be great to highlight some of the STEAM Students experiences and how they actually retained more information. Some information related to the ongoing study may be helpful here. Ideally we want to demonstrate the potential for education, we may access other educational initiatives that are highlighted on the SimTeach page
3) Other options available in the Future Tier 3 Link
Four options available:
a) Access to the main island, the initial prototype will be available free, though it is limited in scope, it will allow you some access to the virtual world as well as the current curriculum. Subsequent releases and additional content will be limited on this island in the future.
b) Subscription access to the main island that will have a National Credit Union branding flavor, with opportunities to add billboards if you do want to provide some sponsorship and marketing to a broad group. This game will have updated curriculum and quests, but no customization
c) If you are interested in developing your own island that can be completely branded and then connected to the main island's game, this will also be available. Here you can create your own branded experience that will be unique to your members. when they log in, they will come in via your island and then they will play the game on the main island. Opportunities to integrate your island into the main game play will ensure traffic on your island and allow you to interact with your members how you choose
d) And finally, if your Financial institution want to have complete control and create their own controlled environment, we can completely customize your "open sim environment" on your own server base, controlled and regulated within your IT firewall protocols. You can also set the access rules and parameters around security, both internally and externally. We can customize the game to meet your curriculum needs, such as state specific certified curriculum which will make it easier for local schools to adopt, to your own curriculum. Additionally, your customized island can offer real world incentives for those who complete aspects of the game. For example, after a teen has completed the first 5 quests related to owning and financing a vehicle, you could provide an interest rate discount, or a 100$ credit if they finance with your credit union. the options are endless, and are easily tracked in the game and tied to the users avatar. 4) A video about coming features (Tier 2) Link
This is a video of what the game will offer in the near future. We will want to preview the other island, demonstrate how the highway, mall and apartments will allow for a more realistic user experience. Multiple quests will continue to be created that will become increasingly more complex as they progress throughout the game. Enhanced multiplayer exercises will force more interaction with either NPC's (not using that term of course) or avatars such as your employees Additionally the results of the quests can be tracked to create certificate programs related to individuals success. if you desire to create a certificate program, you can tie redemption of these certificates to real world benefits, what those are, is yours to decide
This will be used as the last video in the overall filming on the 29th
5) A kickoff video for the ribbon cutting Tier 2 (These are Text guidelines. if we need more specific and exact text, please let me know. I am trying to give a flavor of the piece.) (done)
This will be an introductory video that will highlight the Filene research institute and collaboration with industry partners to bring this concept closer to fruition. Due to Members United interest and funding, we are now able to bring the prototype to market and with additional funding, we will be able to bring it to the next level, as you will see in our videos. The ultimate goal is to articulate the focus on financial education in a new and engaging way that can expand your youth services capabilities and provide a powerful, evolving tool to reach the next generation of your membership. Ultimately, 3D technology is just beginning to expand and the possibilities are truly vast. Virtual finance on CU island can provide your organization with the ability to experiment with cutting edge internet technology while simultaneously helping develop the options for the future As we have mentioned, the ability to create in a 3d world in and of its self is interesting, but by creating an engaging game, and allowing for real world interaction such as ATM interfaces, account opening processes, trackability of avatar performance and ability to reward virtual performances with real word incentives are just a few of the options available. Imagine reaching your members with a truly unique approach, while providing a real valuable service such as financial education that they can use throughout there lives. So welcome, and let's go take a look at the first generation of interactive, 3D financial education

7) A Modoh Promotion "Tier 4"
This is one we spoke about, sort of a real world commercial that starts with teens or younger people doing some things adults don't get, such as texting, or internet games or (be creative) then posing a question such as "Do you know what this means, or what youth want.... If not, call Modoh and we can help" We would then pan to some fun shots of the game, and then I will provide some other things such as clips of Money management cards, interactive educational content such as the buying a car or house video, youth branded websites. Ideally a 30 second cut would probably be most powerful. When you are ready for discussion we can flush out the details further
Tutorial for First time users
(These are videos that demonstrate how to do something in Second Life. the key challenge here is to find ways to balance video and text and make the videos engaging and informative)
Some videos will be on a website and some within the game. Many will be for people who have never been in a virtual world and we need to consider that when we do the videos:
1) How do I set up a SL teen account (Tier 1) Link
This is where we can provide them with step by step such as downloading second life, and walking through the screen shots. I have an example to give you an idea, I will have to find a way to upload it so you can see it
2) How to install SL, log in, and access the CR island (Tier 1) Link
(these videos can be put right into the orientation area we created on the island as well as available for users outside the island. Therefore breaking them down into bite size pieces will be helpful)
(Also, do we need to have one for Mac Users or will they just figure it out?)
3) How to I customize my avatar (or change appearance) (Tier 1) Link
4) How to I move on the island (walking, flying, running, teleporting, driving a car, etc) (Tier 1) Link
5) How do I communicate (Chat, IM, Voice Chat, etc) (Tier 1) Link
6) How to manage inventory and attach Hud's (two videos are referenced on the current billboard) (Tier 1) Link
Keep in mind, the programers have done some unique things with Hid attachment in our game, so our examples may want to be pertinent to our game, may need to check with Jarrod, Sertach and En Ye

Tutorials for aspects of the actual game
(These videos will most likely be what we show during the filming event)
1) In the beginning... (Tier 2) Link
We start out with a quick arial view of the island, land in the CU plaza and locate the game billboard. We spoke about making the billboard have a film embedded in it so show first time users what to do our video should interject a little of that, but focus more on actually playing the game. So we would want to attach the HUD, show what is in the HUD and various boxes and then refer them to the tutorial video built into the billboard so first time users can learn how to play the game while they do it After we attach the Hud, we highlight the first questions, the checklist and how to use the navigation Hud to find the auto dealer. We may also want to highlight that because we have developed this in conjunction wit VITAL labs, we have been able to make some aspects of the game much easier for users. Basically attaching the HUD is very simple now, and with no need to go into inventory
2) At the Car dealership (Tier 2) Link
Once we have moved everyone to the dealership, we can then demonstrate how the auto buying process occurs. Again we will want to wait until the enhancements are done but it should focus on the landing strip, hitting the NPC, explaining what the NPC's are able to do for the game. Basically they can provide challenges to players and create obstacles that they need to overcome, like pressuring them to make a purchase for a car that is too expensive. From there we will show them the choices they can make and highlight the quest. From here we probably want to transition into another movie
3) the Quest... (Tier 2) Link
Once we have demonstrated the aspects of buying car, we can then highlight the quests. How an NPC can be placed to challenge the player to search for answers before making a decision. we would want to highlight the enhanced quest page with examples of the various educational videos, educational content and subsequent questions that are asked and tracked. we may also want to highlight this as an example of things that could be branded in the future and tied to links on your page such as loan calculators, applications or product information. We will then want to circle around to complete the transaction, show the benefit of having played the quest and finally driving off in the correct car
4) real estate (Tier 2) (Making a rent vs buy decision) Link
Here is where we want to feature the real estate office, the videos available for understanding, and actually buying or renting a home. Since most people make a decsion here that can lead to BK, we may want to highlight that hers as well showing the various certificates, and how to sell or buy a home from someone else
5) Other things on the island (Tier 2) Link
Since we did not get to it, we may want to show investing in a 401k, marriage and repeat decisions. dealing with repairs, home equtiy, education choices and income differences. all examples of real world decsions that may affect future financial success Jarrod could share some of the programing that highlights some of this
Tutorials on how to use in Your institution these will probably be mostly tier 4 movies that highlight what and how a CU can use these. I will not go into a lot of detail here
1) How to provide access to the island (Tier 3)
This is an example of adding the SLURL to a website and explaining what a user will see, how once they know what a user sees, they can then form their communication strategy around how to market it. We can provide marketing videos for the FI to attach to their website and explain more
