The GameGen Project
The purpose of the GameGen Project is to create a game given only the aspects the game is intended to exhibit. Right now it just makes 2d platformer games. Following is a list of the aspect categories and aspects which are implemented so far:
- Game Heirarchy
- World map with entrances to levels
- Linear set of levels
- Character/Enemy Abilities
- Movement
- Jumping
- Shooting
- Pogo Stick
- Lay Mine
- Character Aspects
- Ability to level up
- Game Over Methods
- Running out of lives
- Level Completion Method
- Find an exit
- Collect a certain number of items, then go to exit
- Enemy Behaviors
- Jump randomly
- Wander back and forth, occasionally using an attack ability
- Other Game Directives
- Collect points to try to get a high score
- Level Design Styles
- Flatland
- Cave/Maze
