There is a short machinima about the Mystery School on YouTube.

To view it, follow this link: Mystery School

The Mystery School is a way for students to learn about differentiating between statements that are either observations or inferences by exploring the mystery school and labeling the clues given as an observation or as in inference. Each room in the mystery school used to have a class pet living in it until they all of the pets escaped and now the students need to figure out which pets are missing by looking at the clues for each room.

[edit] HUD Display

The Mystery School game uses a HUD(Heads Up Display) to interact with the game. When playing this game the students will explore the mystery school and each room will provoke the HUD to display a list of clues that the students must label as an observation or inference and also use them to determine the missing pet for that room. A HUD is used by the students to navigate the school by displaying which rooms they haven't answered the clues in and also allows the students to keep track of which pets are missing with a check list. Built into the HUD are pre and post tests which can be edited through a web interface(More...).

The students must visit all 8 rooms and have every question labeled and figure out which pet is missing before moving on to get a reward. Depending on how many clues they labeled correctly, they can either choose to ride a go-kart, army truck, 4-wheeler, or hovership. If the students did not enough of the clues correctly or they want to get more of them correct to get a better reward then they can go back to the school and use the map to visit the rooms where they have incorrectly labeled the clues.
